Great free museum with a lovely cafe inside as well. It’s also right in the heart of the city, so a great starting point for a day of exploring Cambridge. Full review by GrandTour09191460006

That would depend very much on the 5 year old. My seven year old today found the Death on the Nile exhibition pretty dull. But she loved the rest of the museum particularly the hugely varied ground floor galleries. But an Egyptian fanatic might like it. The downstairs Egyptian galleries might be better for a young one, more animals etc. What you might want to try is the Museum of Archeology and Anthropology (also free to enter but check opening days and times.) my daughter loved it particularly the quiz where you get your paper stamped etc.
